Made in a bedroom, filled with more musical equipment than furniture or accommodations, I sequenced the first music of my life. Later those songs would be worked on in bands or different groups, but they started in a tiny room in Marquette, Michigan. I made this smear piece at the kitchen table, using bits of handles I shouldn’t have used and played the music on radio shows I shouldn’t have had control of. The painting itself is long gone I believe. I think people liked the cover more than the music. That should had been a clear sign of what side had been chosen for me. I obviously didn’t heed that very well, as the corner of every room I have lived since has had an increasing number of musical bits and gadgets. Oh well.”
